Is the 993c2s a direct fit replacement on the 964 c2?

No that was the reason I created the insert. They are different sized grills.

Hi all , some have asked how the insert attaches to the Grill.
Here is a picture. it basically sandwiches the grill between the insert and a button that screws in to the insert .
I have not driven around with it yet , but I am going to put some lock tight on the button so that it does not vibrate loose.

still printing the inserts , but my printer is down for waiting for a part.
also still looking into injection molding the part for a smooth finish.

this might cost more but I think it would be worth it

If you get one that has a better finish, I may buy the new one. Getting this one right has been a bit of a bear.

Getting my part to work with the injection molding process has been a bear also.
It will require me to make a substantial initial investment to get it going.
But I think the end result will be worth it.
I am taking all of the sales of the 3D printed one and roll it in to the injection molding costs.
If I can get this to work I will send you a injection molding one for free for supporting me.

John,
I love your grill splitter and would really like to have one for my own car. How about crowd founding for the injection mold tools? At one of the ordinary sites or directly here at RL. (If allowed)
I would jump directly, if the price/investment was reasonable.
Keep at it!

Looks good to me! Is it sprayed dark blue or black, can't really tell? Can't wait to get mine! What trouble did you have with it then please?

that is an oem black touch up paint - it was still wet so the color isn't perfect - and the piece was just sitting there - i hadn't really attached it yet - which is why it wasn't sitting perfect - i subsequently hit the paint with a fingernail and now need to strip and repaint the entire piece - cest la vie...

Just a couple of quick pics of the splitter. It's not properly fastened on yet, just sitting on top. I think it would look better being a Matt black paint finish, not glossy. Better still would be body colour paint I'm sure?
