Rear - 18x9.5 ET55

Rear - 18x9.5 ET55
My headache continues!! .. I have found another wheel option with the following specs for the rear wheel ... 18x9.5 ET55
Will this work ok?
If so, would it reduce the amount of negative camber range?
BTW I cannot use spacers/adapters.
--------------
I found a few comments from Bill Verburg that suggest it may be possible, but I'm not sure ...
9.5x17 51.0 275/40 Hoosier perfect fit
964 9x17 are ET55
A pretty std setup for tracked 964s would be 8ET52 & 9 ET55 w/225/40 & 255/40 x17 but the Cups used 9.5ET47 in back

I don't know if this is of any help to you, but I have
Front: 7.5 x 17 ET 52 with 225 x 45 x 17 tire
Rear : 9 x 17 ET 47 with 255 x 40 x 17 tire
No issues with rubbing and lots of room to spare, thinking of adding 6 mm spacers all around to move those wheels out closer to the body.

judging by the offset and the information you provided, you should clear it with a 255 out back, however I have not played much with 964 narrowbody ET's to confirm....

Further info ...
I found this on the design911.co.uk website ...
19" VXS Black Finish. Alloy wheels for Porsche Cars
Front wheels 8.5J ET52. Rear wheels 9.5J ET55.
Fits: etc .. Porsche 964
When I called they weren't sure but suggested a spacer MAY be required
Then I found a rennlist forum guy Viken posting this ...
1- 964 Cup Design Wheel:
965.362.128.05 - 9.5" x 17" - ET55
but perhaps this is for a 964 turbo?
this also looks like the incorrect offset specs based on the info here .. http://www.944racing.de/felgengewichte.php
On the pelican forum ...
For sale Genuine BBS LM's
Perfect fit for 964 NB, 993 NB, 996 NB, Boxster, 968, 87+ 944
LM 141 18 x 8 ET 50
LM 142 18 x 9.5 ET 55
Using the offset calculator ..

Using my current wheels as the benchmark with the calculator measurements, I think it may work with the ovalised oil hose mod.

my rears are 18X10 ET 62 with 8 mm spacer (effective ET 54). With 265/35 it just clears the inner wheel well although the driver side rubs v. slightly when i go over a big bump (like leaving my driveway).
But I also don't have much clearance on the outer fender lip.
I think 8mm spacer is about max you can go - I get 7 turns of the lug nuts. With 10mm spacers i'd only get about 5 turns which i think for lugs would be too little?
What ovalised oil hose mod? I know i'm close to an oil hose (passenger side) but that hose already looks ovalised and it's set into a "channel" in the inner fender.

Thanks
After my extensive research (unfortunately ), I read that the later cars had the ovalised pipe/hose out of the factory. My car is mid 1990 and the pipe/hose is just round.

Thanks Bill .... I have already spent HOURS studying all your previous posts! ... thank you for sharing the information over the years
I can't use spacers so this is a lot of worry over 8mm!
From my checks, it looks like there are 3 clearance concerns if things get real tight:
a) the suspension arm - perhaps could impact toe-in settings
b) the oil pipe - can be flattened
c) on the left side there is a 'lump' in the inside panel separating the engine
I think these will be all be ok.

Just to close this out ... my conclusion was that the 9.5 ET55 would be ok with a 265 tyre however:
a) the level of camber could be limited unless the oil pipe is flattened
b) the wheels wont really fill the guard out nicely
Primarily based on (b), I changed wheel options and went for a 9 ET43.

Going to bump this thread so I don't create a new one.
I'm about to get the same rear specs, but with a 255 tire. I think my car already has the flattened oil pipe in the back, but from my first set of wheels I currently have -2.5* of camber. I'm planning to reduce the camber to about 1.3-1.5 in the back once I get these on and dial in the ride height, etc.
So I suppose my final question is, do you think I'l clear everything that I need until I can reduce the camber? I have a pair of 3mm spacers I can throw on temporarily.

Three Wheelin'
My wheels are 18x9.5 +49 and I add a 3 mm spacer so it is ended +47. I and am running 265 Super Sports with around -1.5 camber and had no issues with either set up. I bet I could run a 6mm spacer and still be OK.

My rear wheels are 18 X 9.0" with 52mm offset and my tires are 265/35. My car has been lowered to euro rs specs (maybe a bit higher). I'm running a 14mm rear spacer without an issues. I know you can't run spacers but hopefully this will help you with your calcs...
