Default FS: 1993 Porsche 911 (964) Carrera 2 - $18,500

Sadly, it's time to sell the 964 in my avatar. Please follow my link (or see the Featured Classifieds) for some photos and a comprehensive description.

Review the description and pics and send contact info to me at chilicon@verizon.net for questions if interested.

IMHO this is a $13-14K car, based on the miles/condition, market conditions and recent sales of 964's in the $18-20K range with 1/2 the miles. It will be interesting to see what it actually sells for.

as a data point, i agree with deadhead, there are several seemlingly clean, enthusiast owned 964's with 115-120k miles and new clutch selling with asking prices of $12-15k.
I also just saw a mint 42k '92 car sell for $21.5k and it included new clutch and suspension.
Just MHO, but i think there is a big difference between asking prices and where they actually sell, especialy as they are higher mileage.

Guys do you really need to make these comments on another Rennlister's FS thread?? Pelican (wisely) banned responses on their cars for sale forum because of crap like this.

greg, you are right, and i apologise to Mike (the post).
These comment are more relivant to a general valuation post and not in response to an individuals car.

I agree screw people that make comments like that, I have wanted to on the 993 board many times when I see what those owners think they can sell there 993's for. You list it at what you want, not other people's opinions. I am also trying to sell and its been crazy! Good luck my friend.

Ken,

Yes, prior to my purchase in 2002 at ~125k miles, but only as reported by the PO. No details or records to prove it, but I trust it to be valid. To my knowledge, the case has never been split.

As many others do, I maintain this car myself, but do not obsess over records. That's just me, and some buyers may shy away. That's OK, my fault, but this car deserves a close look by anyone looking for a nice 964.

Harking back to posts on Porschefans and Porschelist by Brian Buxton (remember the kid with the fledgling Buxton Motorsports, where each ad included a paragraph of "Picks"?), I've fully disclosed all issues, and will address anyone's questions. Worst case for me is I get to keep this car.

Thanks for the continued constructive discussion.

Mike, If you still have her next month. What do you think about going to Cars and Coffee on Saturday July 17th.

duPont REGISTRY Cars and Coffee is a monthly informal gathering of Tampa Bay's classic, luxury and exotic car enthusiasts!

It's usually held the 3rd Saturday morning from 7am-9am at the duPont REGISTRY.

Feel free to participate by bringing your Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bentley, Viper, Corvette or whatever!

This concept was brought to life locally by Tom duPont in June 2005 and has evolved into a perfect enthusiast's event.

Good info, Kopo!

Thanks for your posts and PM. I let my Suncoast PCA membership lapse after a longish run a little while back. It's a great group of folks, and the events and Profile are great. Unfortunately, with the exception of the 48 Hours (regular spectator, only), I didn't participate much. Who knows... maybe we've met.

The comment was made constructively and without malice. This is a forum and if someone doesn't want to invite a comment, they should limit their ad to the classified section of Rennlist. I've seen many posts whereas the seller has incorrectly priced their cars and comments from others have resulted in a repricing, quicker sale and gratitude from the seller.
