Default Crank Pulley Removal Tool

Hi all

I thought I would share a few photos of the crank pulley holding tool that I made today.

I have a problem with the harmonic dampener so I needed to remove the pulley with the engine in the car. I found a photo of Porsche tool P9280, did a sketch on Autocad, printed this off and stuck it to some 100mm x 8mm scrap steel and drilled and cut out the engagement plate.

I tacked this to a 50mm length of 76mm OD tube and a metre long bit of flat, which I had drilled a 30mm diameter hole into to allow the 22mm socket to pass through it. It all fitted, so I fully welded it up and the pulley was off in 10mins.

That's great. i might have to try making one. it looks like it just catches on the allen head screws that bolt the two halfs of the pulley together.

Nice, but when I needed one I just went to an independent garage and asked if I could borrow the tool for the weekend. No problems and it cost me a bottle of scotch!

Ross,

Great piece of home engineering.

My harmonic dampener is wobbling a bit so I'm going to have to tackle this soon. I was going to ask if you had a spare print-out of the Autocad drawing so I could have a go at making this myself, but then noticed you are less than an hour away...I don't suppose you could be tempted into lending yours out for a weekend for a bribe of your favourite tipple?

Hi guys

Reviving an old thread but I will need such a tool.
In the drawing above the outer diameter and screw head diameters are missing dimensions.

Anybody does have them at hand or can take measurement on the engine (needs to be out of car)?

it would help me a lot!

thank you
