Default 4TH clutch interlock starter switch

My car is a 2010 GT3 . It has 6400 miles on it . Since new the dealer has had to install 3 clutch interlock switches. Thought the random starting problems were solved the 3RD switch lasted from 5600miles to 6400 miles .now I am having the same problems starting the car hot or cold, The dash lights up no faults, sometimes it starts other times I just get a click. Try again it starts.I instaled a bypass mechanical switch, so you do not have to depress the clutch to start the car. THE GREY CLUTCH INTERLOCK SWITCH IS NOT THE PROBLEM and the dealer cannot find anything bad with the usual parts, starter battery ignition, ect ect . ANY IDEAS ON WHATS GOING ON??? HELP!

REGARDS,
GG300

I had the same problem. Changing the switch has solved it so far.

Long shot but make sure the switch is located properly. If the switch bracket is out of position the clutch switch may not be depressed sufficiently to close the electrical contacts.

Consider too a contributing factor is if your foot is not centered on the clutch pedal and the pedal/arm could get deflected slightly the deflection coming from a larger amount of lever arm/bushing play/clearance.

Sincerely,

Macster.

Thanks for the input, Mike do you know where the GROUNDS are located[eng. trans frame] ?MACSTER, I will check the position of the switch and look for pedal deflection.CANDELLARA, I will push the dealer to take another look at the starter mtr. Funny how the problem went away for 1000 miles????? and now is back.

I replaced two clutch switches and the problem "seemed" to go away, but re-occurred shortly afterwards.

All you'd get is a "click". Move it in and out of gear a few times, depress the pedal a few times and she'd start. Happens about 1 in 5 start attempts.

Car is with Porsche as i write for new starter motor

Thanks everone for the good info I will check the grounds . Thanks GTEE3 for your posts. I am feeling more and more like a suspect starter is the problem but will check all grounds today to rule out this area.

Well I spoke to soon. It happened today for the first time since replacing the clutch switch.
In regard to the starter motor. It seems many times when the clutch switch is replaced the problem goes away for a while. If the starter was the problem it would seem to me that replacing the clutch switch would not cure the problem for a while??

i had this problem a LOT in my car ('07 GT3). it was getting so that i'd get that dreaded click about 30-40% of the time, and would have to click away for a few minutes-- with the attendant different techniques of rowing the shifter, alternating between fast turns of the key and slow, doing a raindance, etc-- before she'd fire up.

the dealer never changed the switch, but checked/cleaned(?) the grounding points, and the problem went away for a while. then it came back very intermittently some time ago, but over the past year, its disappeared again. mysterious.

WTF, yeah, if you do a moon dance naked , gab your donger ,and do 3 shots of JD during a solar eclipse your car might start!!!!!!!!!!! I just dont get it. That just about sums up my dealer advise.
