Yeah I just find it interesting a space heater could change my gaps .002". I'm going to get my rings and the block at the same garage cold temperature and check my gaps again and call it good. Last thing I want to have is a ring seize ( shoot me now ) lol

I Had block in the car at about -15°C outside temp, brought it in the garage and tried to put pistons that were inside the house on the shelf above the radiator and were probably at about +40°C. They didn't fit inside the cylinder. Once the temp equalised they went in easy. So it does affect tolerances a bit.

The most important is that everything is at about equal temp.

There is no ambient temp requirement for gaping rings. Having said that I believe there is an unwritten assumption that you are working in a comfortable environment and not outside in Serbia during the winter. lol
