Default Holset HX35 944 turbine

Hey Everyone.
I have been running and selling a custom hx35 on the 944's for some time now. The interest is getting bigger and bigger. I had a couple buddies that were making crossover pipes and down pipes for them. We use a custom hose stile cover to fit the balance shaft and under the throttle body. They work great on those engines.

Here is what I am asking. I'm putting a FEELER out!!! I'm considering casing out K26 stile turbine hsg's. I have figured out the rest of the turbo. The New hx/k26 turbine hsg's will make this turbo a direct fit. This would also include the HX40 frame for the really high HP cars.

I would like some feed back to see if there is enough interest out there. These are not cheap to cast out. But, I want to keep pricing attractive to compete with the market. I would be selling these as complete units. Please let me know you opinion.

In!!

I bought your 0.63 a/r HX35 hotside from your ebay store a few weeks ago, and so did my buddy Doug (Dougs951S on here). He and I are both planning on running them on our 951s.

Very interested in what you come out with for downpipes and crossovers.

If I mailed you back the hotside I bought, would you be able to mod it to bolt up to the stock downpipe and crossover?

Note that the hotside isn't clocked right because I haven't modded the turbo mount yet for clearance.

The .63 works great. It's pretty much a 9cm turbine hsg. I want to cast the new set of hsg's close to a 9cm. As to the down pipe. The new hsg will bolt right up. If the demand is there. But, your hsg's will need a flange mod. You need to look for a T31 flange. Or make it a 3in V-band flange.

Any chance of producing a downpipe with the T31 flange as well? A buddy is modding my crossover for T3 duty but the downpipe is going to be annoying to get right, since the engine will have to be in the car to get it right. Really looking forward to this setup.

Another option I found is this:

To convert the T31 to Vband. Is this something I could send back to have you do, for a price similar to what ATP wants?

Hey if you send in the turbine hsg, I'll weld on a 3in v-band. I have 2 951's over here. One with an engine still in it hahah. I may make up a few down pipes for the T31 hx35. it would probably be in January though. I have to move some stuff around in the shop to fab it up. I'm finishing up another project right now. But, I do have alot of customers asking about it. So, it may be worth wile. If I make one, I will build a JIG for the rest. 3in SS...... or mild if neeed be.... with some 02 bungs. Help me out ,,,, I'll help you out.... My favorite type of business,, Everyone is happy.

I like it! Would welding on the 3" Vband add any length? Trying to figure out downpipe interaction. I've talked to (other) Tim at Speedforce Racing and he sells downpipes with Vband flanges but if you're making them as well, that may be the way to go since you can jig them up to ensure proper fitment to the rest of the exhaust, after the turbine and downpipe are mated. Vband definitely seems easier than using the T31 flange, as I'm sure you know it's impossible to undo that flange without pulling the turbo on the 951.

I'm happy to ship back the housing for that modification, I'll be back in town next week.

I can set the depth of the v-band. It's Usually flush with the T3 foot.

Tim, can you advise if a 3" Vband will fit in a 951 application? Just want to make sure it won't foul with the block or turbo mount. If it clears, put me down for this

If not, what about 2.5"?

interested, and amazingly, local. down the street in Annandale, my 951 needs a new turbo, I have an old T04E on the shelf somewhere that needs a rebuild, but this may be a more interesting option.

Tim, also extremely interested in sending you back my hotside and having you weld on the 3" Vband if It's known to clear the balance shafts, ect. Do you open up the outlet of the turbine so that it's actually a 3" outlet and not 2.5"?

So am I right in thinking that if you had a turbonetics replica turbine housing - either an 8 or a 10 that these HX35 turbos would bolt up to the standard crossover and downpipe - or is there more to it than that?

much more to it than that. these are custom T3 hotsides specifically machined to fit the holset turbine. you could make the replica hotside bolt on if you machined it to fit the hx3t turbine and chra. Then you need to fab a custom oil feed line and grind the throttle body, the intake manifold, and the turbo mount for clearance.
