In the time it takes me to build one motor, you probably will have built 5 if not more. Does the 16v head have ceramic liners like the turbo 8v?

Should be an interesting build Shawn. Looking forward to seeing how it responds with Gustaf's intake w/ the short runners. What's the ETA?

No ceramic liners.

One disadvantage to this motor is that it is not a Hybrid Stroker so the pistons are custom and they will not arrive for about a month. My friend had many of the components already so we are building around them. Still, it should make for a very fun street car.

I'm interested to see how it responds with the short runner intake and 'not stroker' crank.

I feel we're sort of in a similar position with 16v motors that we were say 5-10 years ago with the proliferation of 3ltr 8v motors and there will be a growing library of data to follow. (Assuming not everyone keeps their cards to their chests). I will be writing about mine soon enough. Are you going to flow the head just for reference sake?

+1 on the head flow.
What's the rpm range this will be in?
Interested to see how the 16v with this static compression does.
Agree with you Patrick. Lot could be learned looking at different builds with 16v heads.
If things go like in thinking with mine..... I may just invest in a billet block and head so we can infinitely reproduce the block and heads

Which pistons are you using? I can get you custom JE in around 2 weeks, and I have all the 4V dimensional data. Let me know if you're interested.

Looking good, but not sure I would want to use a restrictive KKK style hotside with a 16v head and a short runner intake. Would be interesting to monitor back pressure.

3.0 16v loves generous turbine housings. Holset HX40 Super with 16cm hotside has full boost at ~3400-3500 rpm with 968 head and Variocam.
No need to choke it with restrictive turbine, it will only make it less powerful but response won't be that much better..

Not my first choice but I think it will do just fine.

Can you post that dyno again of your car so I can see how spool up should be?

I have only 2.5 16v turbo, not 3.0 16v.
But here's Jõujaam 968 Turbo (still with S2 non-variocam head), with 16cm2 Holset HX40 Super.
With Variocam head power was still 670hp but with 1.5 bar instead of 1.65 bar and boost treshold was ~500 rpm lower thanks to variocam tuning.

I am well aware of this dyno, still like to see yours.
