Torque Tube in high powered race cars
Are you guys doing anything to modify the torque tube? Only one I've ever seen was one of the v8 guys discussing it once.
I know Black Sea(think that's the name) does it.

I had issues with one of my standard torque tube bearings.
I replaced them all with the Black Sea bearings.
Took a bit to change them but it wasn't too hard.
No issues since.

Only modification is replacing the bearings. which isn't a mod. You can upgrade with the black sea ones. Which are really good.

I think the Black Sea super bearings are the way to go if you can afford them. There is the pricy driveshaft for the 944/951 that they make also. I would compaire a Black Sea super bearing/driveshaft equipped torque tube to be equivalent in quality as Wrightwood racing Charlie Arms lower control arms. Top quality items but a bit pricy. If I had the $ that's the setup I would go with.

Noisy bearings on mine also so i replaced with a rebuilt tube from Black Sea. I was more concerned about never having to do this job ever again than the bearings being able to supporting the power. Do it once, do it right...that's why i went with the Black Sea bearings. Tube has ~10k miles on it now, half of which is with a LS1 (instant torque). No issues to report.

I dont think the bearings will wear prematurely because of higher engine power. All they do is stop the shaft from whipping around from the twisting force made by the engine.
If you think that you're making that much power and you'll kill the bearings (doubt it) then add an extra one or 2 in.

The shaft is heat treated ect. I believe it's quite strong.
If you want to get a stronger shaft, that's a whole another story. I would be looking at a holo tube CF shaft.
Bearings to suite isn't an issue at all.

I have never had problems with torque tube, but none of my cars have had the split torque tube (like S2) either.
Currently using standard 944 NA torque tube on my 500hp 924 2.5 16v turbo, no issues whatsoever.
