1986 Turbo engine reseal
Hi there, let me first introduce myself. I'm from Montreal Canada and recently bought a very clean 1986 Burgundy 951 with sport seats, LSD transmission and BBS RS wheels.
Paint and body are in excellent shape and car ran perfectly but some service record where missing. Timing belt, balance belt and water pump where done 4 years ago. Engine was leaking from allover the place so i decided to reseal of the engine.
I pulled the engine and dissembled it to the block. Everything was in good shape and other than 2 studs on the wastegate, nothing broke. .
Question, what gasket set do i need to order from pelican? from reading on the forum, looks like the Widefire gasket is unnecessary unless i o ring the head, which is not going to happen now.
Does the Head gasket set and pan gasket set have everything needed ?
Thanks.

Never bought the set from Pelican, but for the oil seals, you'll need:
pan gasket
rear main seal
front main(oil pump) seal
AOS seals (2)
oil filter housing gasket set
balance shaft seal set
oil filler
I think a seal for the oil pump if you remove it
pick up tube seal if you remove it
lots of rags!!!
Don't forget if you're taking off the balance shaft covers you need to apply a special loctite(or similar stuff) compound to the surfaces to reseal the covers.

Nobody makes a complete set that I could find. Here's a list I made a long time ago and bought, but still haven't put to use. I think I got every seal, but don't hold me to that. I bought everything from Pelican even though Paragon or Lindsey beat them on by a few pennies on a few items.
