ID size for Oil Cooler lines

ID size for Oil Cooler lines
I have a leak in one of my oil cooler lines. Thinking of splicing the leaking piece with a double ended barb splice. I'm thinking 1/2" ID or 12mm. Do not want to cut it open, and have to go to the hardware store.
Anyone know for sure.
