A 25 year old 944.

Besides that, torque tube bearings, torque tube end (nub) fit in pilot bearing, torque tube straightness, flywheel, pressure plate, friction plate, balance belt, engine mounts.

Mine has always vibrated. Never found anything wrong. I think they just 'do'.

I just tightened the gear stick to remove the sloppyness.

New TT bearings. the PP is new. flywheel is machined. Although i noticed a bolt hanging out of it pointing down.
Hmm one thing i forgot to replace (i found it after dropping the engine in) was the bearing in the flywheel. And when i did the TT bearings, i dont think the nub was sitting in the bearing properly because now the clutch engagement is much better with no chatter at all.

Have your clutch/flywheel assembly properly balanced. The aftermarket pieces are particularly bad (imbalance).

As soon as the orginal clutch gets replaced (therefore no longer some of the rubberized stuff), a buzz will inherently develop (usually around the low 3,000 RPMs ). It's normal.

Hmmm. Thanks for the info guys. It's not a bad vibration, it's small. I had a huge one from the TT bearings.

Hopefully this thread is useful for someone else.

Balance shafts out of alignment and engine mounts are a great place to start. Dealt with that today at the shop.
