So i saw a post somewhere on rennlist that you can connect wideband o2 sensor to the dme. If thats possible i would be able to replace my old o2 and have wideband. If not ill have to weld a new o2 bunk

Here is the post: I have also heard the 5 wire wide/narrow sensor from a late model VW could be used. It has wideband capability for future tuning, and they are a whopping $38 from 1stvwparts.

LSU sensor info:
http://wbo2.com/lsu/default.htm

The Gray and white wires on the VW sensor are for the heater and the black wire is the narrowband signal.

But i have aem wideband tho

No, A wide band O2 reads 0-5V, and a narrow band reads 0-1V.

That is correct.

You will need the proper bung welded in, in the proper location. Lindsey's site has a good pic of it: http://www.lindseyracing.com/LR/Parts/WBO2LOCATION.html

Lindsey also sells the bung: http://www.lindseyracing.com/LR/Porsche//IM-3736.html

The factory oxygen sensor location gets too hot for a typical wideband sensor, so you want to put the wideband sensor down by the starter, and with the wires pointing up slightly.

Many wideband controllers have a narrowband output, a 0-1 volt output, that can be used in place of narrowband sensors.

This is a good read on wideband vs narrowband O2 sensors

Yes, wideband 02 sensors also calculate oxygen content with a sophisticated temperature sensor...so the crossover pipe is a no-no for a wideband.

Just ordered bosch 15735 3wire o2 sensor, figured i should change the narrowband too. God knows how long its been there, and my mpg is ****ty im runing rich too, cause under wot my car shoots some spectacular afterfires and my narrowband gauge says im runing rich under wot

Then ill be focusing on pre turbo exhaust leaks.. i got couple of them

O2 sensors are supposed to be changed every 60-80k, maintenance that's commonly overlooked. In the older cars, the oxygen sensor is bypassed @ WOT, so if you're running rich, it's something else. A new sensor will definitely improve your idle and part throttle driving.

About part throttle driving. Having throttle at ~80-90% car feels like it pulls more than at 100% but maybe its just me. Im still going to do TB calibration and idle adjustment
