Default Wrapping Gauge Pod in Vinyl

has anyone done it? My car has a brown interior, and I would like the gauge pod to make it. Has anyone been successfully with wrapping their gauge pod?

I spray painted mine. Came out quite nice. I used burgandy paint, and did a thin coat to allow the black to make it the proper tone. I can't see why you couldn't do something similar.

I may go this route instead of wrapping it. I just want it look like it belongs in the car.

Not on my 951's, but on my ricer, I went to AutoBody store and had them mix up a custom color SEM plastic paint which was perfect match. It is designed for plastic and has never chipped or faded. Over ten years now. I have since painted many faded interior parts and look like new now.

I have the LR A pillar gauge pod, and I sprayed it brown. IIRC, the Rust-oleum brown at home Depot is what I used. It matches alright... if you stare, you can see its a few shades lighter than the dash, but its not instantly noticeable. The Testors spray model paint from the hobby store is much to dark.

I have also tried covering it with suede (I got a scrap real cheap from a local upholstery shop)... It didn't go well. I can't comment on vinyl, but the large "bumps" where the gauges go make the winkles nearly impossible to remove.....plus I am not of Spanish decent, so my skills are limited
