1986 951 Have "knock control diagnosis plug"?
I would like to wire a knock counter to the KLR but would like to avoid messing with the wiring harness if I can avoid it. I've seen other posts referencing the knock control diagnosis plug. Looks like a 12 pin rectangular connector which has a knock sensor wire going to it in 1988.
I looked under the dash and I see the rectangular connector on my 1986 turbo. But I've checked the wiring diagrams and I don't see this connector listed anywhere.
Can anyone confirm that there's a knock lead running to this connector in 1986?

Yeah I've been there. That leads to one of the threads that shows the use of the diagnostic port. But my question is specifically whether or not the 1986 year has a knock lead on that port. I know the 1988 does.

Yes, it does. For reasons unknown, it is not shown in the 86 schematic, but the signal is there and waiting to be used (along with power and ground). On the 86, the connector is attached to the big spring clip that holds up the back of the glove box (rather than bolted to the corner of the metal bracket that holds the DME/KLR in the footwell).
