Default GTX28 series turbos....

http://www.atpturbo.com/root/release...e110101-1.html

one of these combined with a 0.82 twinscroll, you'll probably have instant boost with some power to go along with it.

if someone is up for the fabrication to do a twinscroll x-over.. i think it would be a perfect turbo to use for auto X or even just street use.

Or do you think it'll be to small and start surging?

It is too small, but I thought the gt3071 was to small as well( and that is with a twin scroll setup)

I just thought the gt3071r was a touch little, it was super responsive, we started with the .78 twin scroll turbine housing, it was great to drive but it felt 'choked' , we made better power with a 1.06(twin scroll remember) and it was still great but it needed a fair bit of boost to produce good results. That was why I tried a little bigger(fp3073) the next time.

The 3071 just didn't seem to push you back hard enough in the seat, a bit different from what I expected.

I didn't think it would be that responsive, i know it's slightly smaller then mine, but you're using a twin scroll. so i guess the 28 series turbos are just to small for a 2.5.

My guess is that someone that is running a k26\6 and dont think its "to small" would love a gt25 turbo in their car . These cars are laggy enough! with a small turbo that could deliver and spool faster would be great for a autox car.

i just realised i wrote gtx25 when i ment 28. but i think thats what you ment also!

well the way i see it is the 26/6 is like a gt28 kind of in power output and size.

Agreed on it being too small. I think the smallest one should ever go is a GT3071 with a .63 A/R hotside. A Gt3076 with a .82 A/R is so fast to spool with the correct supporting equipment I don't see why anyone would go smaller. Maybe our definition of quick spool is different.

i've got a GTX3076R with a .82. i love it, it spools quick in the upper rpm 4000+ but before 3200 it's a dog of a turbo.

Not sure why you want anything before 3500? What's the point of that? I would look at getting a larger cam and expanding on the higher RPMs because that's where the power is anyways. I would say that if you don't like the lag, go NA. I'm not trying to be harsh, but it's true. Have to sacrifice something, right?

Any big turbo spools fast when it spools . -I would personally love to have a turbo in a street car that hit 14 psi by 2500 rpm no GT30 will ever do that . Would i like to loose top end in favor of less turbolag , maybe not . However it would be a far smother car to drive.

Maybe look into a 335 then. They seem to be the closest thing to that. I still don't understand this at all. However, I expect more than 300whp out of one of these cars.

I get what you are saying i am probably in the same camp as you . But for people that do not need\or want more power i think a gt28 could be an improvement.
