Default I'm 2 and 1 in races in my 951

First off, I rarely drive fast on the streets unless its on an open highway, so don't read me the riot act because we've all done it at some point.

Just a refresh my car is an 86 951 with a Lindsey Racing built 3 liter, series 65, Lindsey MAF, DP WG, fabspeed 3 inch exhaust, head work etc... Dynapac at 14.5 psi it put down 412rwhp. I'm now running 17psi and it runs very rich (need the M-Tune very badly)

My first race was against my brothers modified 09 Z06 Vette. At the time his car put down 580 rwhp and I lost very badly from 60 mph on. I wasn't expecting to win, turns out he was in 3rd gear, i was in forth, but even if I was in 3rd, he still would have smoked me.

The 2nd race was against a friends 08 M3 coupe. 4th gear, 70 mph or so on, He got about a half car ahead and once my car came on boost I pulled on him pretty good. We then raced in 3rd gear from 50 mph on and I just flat out walked away from him. It wasn't even close at all.

3rd race was this past weekend against my friends highly modified and lightened 03 VW GTi 1.8 liter. His car has about 400hp at the crank and is a very fast car, especially in 1st and 2nd gear, but we raced in 4th gear from about 70 mph on. He got about a car length ahead cause I had no idea we were even racing, but I floored it, boost came on and I pulled in him until I let off at 120mph.

I'm going to order an M-Tune and fix the A/F ratio then put it on a dynojet and see what my results are. I've heard that dynapac's results are generally 10-15% lower than dynojet.

Nice Job. Those are some pretty respectable cars

Thanks Lee. I thought for sure the M3 would be a better race. My friend who owns the M3 was highly dissapointed he got beat by a 26 year old car.

Have you contacted Rogue Tuning about using the M-tune with a 3.0L? I can't remember if Joshua has posted anything about the upper HP limit of the M-tune.

I've spoken to Josh about getting an M-Tune. I believe they are set to not exceed 22psi?? i wouldn't go above 20psi on 100 octane and 17psi on 93 octane.

Is there a limit for upper HP that i should be concerned about?

Well, Josh knows best, obviously. I really don't know the answer (Why I asked you if you'd talked to him ).

I don't think the boost pressure is what you want to look at though. Its air flow. The 3" M-tune pipe can only flow so much air, and the MAF sensor can only read so much air. A 3.0L at 20psi will need more air than a 2.5L at 20psi. Just wondering if the M-tune could handle that much air flow. If Josh said it can, then it can

The MAF sensor used in the M-Tune will read ~600hp.
So more than enough for 99% of 944 turbos out there...

And, on gasoline, you will be within the limits of my 80# injectors as well.

Trust you've installed a bigger fuel pump already. If not, you'll need to...

Nothing more satisfying than seeing the guy grimace when you pass him. Next time, you should be a dick and wave as you fly by...hahaha.

I remember giving a pack of E36 M3s a spanking, one at a time, all the way down RT 80 when I was in college. I think they were probably going to a car show or something, or maybe just a cruise, but im sure no one wanted to discuss the 951 that destroyed them on their way over. Good times.

I do have a LR High pressure fuel pump in there but not the Bosch 044, which I thought I ordered when doing my rebuild. That's an easy thing to replace if I need to do it.
