Where to Buy a Curtis Impulse Counter?
I want to build a knock counter but am having trouble finding where I can buy the counter. The links in old posts do not seem to be good.

Hmm, they took them off the website at SkyCraft Surplus. They were around $12-13 bucks. I'm local to them and have to make a trip there tomorrow, they had quite a few left when I was there 2 weeks ago. I can grab you one if they're still in stock and ship it to you if you'd like. I was meaning to pick myself up another since I kind of buggered up my first attempt.

Scott,
Really appreciate that. That would be great! I will cover yours as well for the effort. Please pick 2 up for me if they have enough. I am going to make an attempt at some modifications. Let me know and I will cover cost plus shipping via Paypal.

PM sent.
And for those that are interested in this, they only have a handful left. Seems someone grabbed 50 or so of them in the past week. They have resettable mechanical counters for $10 that might work, I just don't know what sort of resolution they have vs. the digital.

FWIW, this is what I found, and sent in a recent e-mail..
"Apparently Curtis is no longer offering the counter so many of us have used, however digikey offers the latest counters, WITH reset built in...
http://search.digikey.com/scripts/Dk...FUx95Qod-xgd_w
any of the 5-12 VDC offerings should work fine, the 12-48 VDC powered ones MAY not power on if your voltage from the alternator or battery drops, but the 5-12 VDC should be fine!
And best part is the reset is active on these!"

Scott,
You are the man, thanks! If you ever need anything in GA let me know. I sent a PM.
John - Thanks for all your info on the counters, I plan on using your write-up this weekend.

Hey Y'all beat me to this one -- I've been meaning to mock up a knock counter myself. John, where might I find your writeup?
I'm a big fan of a built-in reset.

So this is a thread resurrection, but no need to create new threads on the same theme...
the skycraft source for the curtis counter is long gone, I just got off the phone with digikey, and they said theirs are out of stock as well, unless you want the PC mounting version. http://www.digikey.com/product-searc...0&pageSize=100
I did come across this website, which offers several different variants of the curtis counter with different options including backlighting and reset buttons. I tried to place an order for the 703SR601O 5-12VDC but they told me that there would be a 12-14 week lead time as well as a minimum order of 20 units. The "S" casing measurements seem to fit very well with some minor modifications to the clock hole on a 968 coin tray.

Anyhow, my question is: is there another source? While I would love to see if there is enough interest to do a group-buy of the above counter, I don't have nearly enough cash on hand right now to handle that kind of thing.
