Default Blaupunkt Charleston SQR26 Original 87 fitment..?

Hi Guys and Greetings from Ireland
My 951 came from California originally and ended up here in Ireland in 1991.. When I got the car it was fitted with a Blaupunkt Berlin stereo. On taking it out I seen that the wiring had been messed with.. I am presuming that the Berlin is not the original fitment. Another giveaway is the FM range is 87.5-108Mhz ...! I have a VDO CD player in at the minute ...!

I have come across a Blaupunkt Charleston SQR26 on the bay and I am wondering if this is the correct stereo for the 87 model year in the US.

If it isnt which radio should I look for...!

Thanks a million in advance...!

I believe some of the 87's came with the Blaupunkt Reno which is option code 158.

My 87 944S had a Charleston SQR26, in fact it's sitting about 3 feet away from. I swapped it out for a Pioneer HU before I sold the car. If you weren't across the pond I would give it to you, I have no use for it at all.

Nice radio, but totally obsolete.

You should get this one.

Classic look and modern internals.

and you could get away with wife, since it really doesn't appear special to untrained eye
