Default FS 1986 951 (Pending Sale)

UPDATE: March 5 - took a deposit for pick up at the end of the month.... She is going to a good home!

For Sale - 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo

While this has not been an easy decision, I have decided that I am going to sell my 951. I am getting a 996 C4 shortly and there simply is not enough room or budget for all of the cars.

Here is a detailed description of the vehicle which has been lovingly maintained, but is a driver that I use as much as I can.

Key Details

1986 Porsche 944 Turbo
Mileage: ~90,000 miles
Exterior Colour: Graphite Metallic
Interior: Black Leather
All invoices since new including window sticker
Clean Carfax
US car imported into Canada in 2007. I will help any US buyer get the re-import the car - it will likely need a catalytic converter to pass emissions.

Engine (all modifications done in the last two years)
  • No fluid leaks
  • 2.5L engine
  • K26/6 Turbo
  • Lindsey black **** MBC
  • Vitesse MAF (Spring 2009)
  • 83 lbs injectors with MAF
  • 3 BAR FPR
  • Lindsey Racing Stainless steel braided fuel lines and jumper line (Spring 2009)
  • Innovate Wideband AFR (Spring 2009)
  • IceShark Alternator and Starter Cables (Spring 2009)
  • Lindsey Racing 3” exhaust, Cat-delete, Magnaflow muffler (Summer 2008)
  • All belts and rollers replaced (Summer 2008 – 6K miles) - PO resealed car about 12K miles ago
  • New radiator, hoses, temperature sender and temperature switches (Summer 2008)
  • New silicone vacuum lines (Winter 2008)
  • Venturi delete
  • Throttle Body reseal kit waiting to be installed
  • Silcone intercooler pipe couplers with upgraded clamps
  • Cap, rotor and wire (Winter 2008) plugs replaced every spring
Transmission
  • Factory LSD (Option code 220)
  • Clutch done at about 60K miles
  • No noise from axles, but they probably need to be checked
Brakes (10,000 miles on them)
  • Stock
  • Zimmerman cross-drilled rotors
  • Metal Master pads
Suspension
  • M474 Konis in front (Sport suspension from factory)
  • Bilstein HD in rear (Fall 2008)
Exterior
  • BBS LMs 17” x7.5” et 25 front, 17” x 9” et 15 rear (early offset – no spacers)
  • Sumitomo HTR ZIII 225/50R17 front, 255/40R17 rear (75%+ tread left)
  • 968 mirrors (factory Porsche – Winter 2009)
  • 968 replica wing (Spring 2009 – CPR – also have factory foam wing and will include it with the sale)
  • Front splitter (Winter 2009 – CPR – also have batwing and will include it with the sale)
  • New front Emblem
  • Smoked side markers lenses (Spring 2008 – CPR – also have factory ones)
  • Clear front marker/turn signals
  • Hella H4 E-Code headlights with Rennbay harness
  • Paint is good, but hood needs to be repainted due to heat cracks and there is a touched up chip in the sun roof. If a buyer comes forward at my asking original price of $12,500 – I will have this done at my cost.
  • Regular stone chips for a car that is driven extensively
  • Windows and hatch are tinted.
Interior
  • A/C blow cold
  • Leather Sport Seats (4-way) in great shape
  • Carpets very good, some fading in hatch area
  • New dash (Winter 2008 - three small cracks were repaired at the time and have not grown)
  • Carbon fibre trim (Winter 2008 Jager Engineering custom)
  • LED (red) dash lights
  • Stainless bezels on instrument cluster
  • New shifter boot
  • Stainless shifter top[/INDENT]
  • Additional instruments: Innovate boost and Wideband AFR, Prosport Oil temperature gauge (Installed where cubby below radio was – will provide cubby to buyer)
  • 930 Steering wheel
  • New floor mats (Winter 2008 – Lloyd Mats)
  • Upgraded stereo (Winter 2009)
  • High-end JVC KD-R600 head unit with iPod compatibility
  • 10 speaker set up – stock speakers in doors (all work)
  • 6 ½ Infinity rear speakers
  • 600W low-profile subwoofer in hatch area
  • Additional sound deadening installed (B-Quiet Ultimate and V-Comp)
  • Aluminium pedals
  • New Rennline aluminium glove box hinges
  • Stainless Door stills

I am sure that I have missed a few things. I have repaired, replaced things as they have broken (e.g. turn signal assembly, fan resistors, HVAC parts).

I have cherished the car and would like to see an enthusiast buy it too.

Price $12,500 obo (but, I will consider all reasonable offers). I know the market is bad right now, however, I am willing to wait to get a reasonable price and if it takes until next spring I can wait.

Here are a few pics (and the link to many more http://s480.photobucket.com/albums/r...%20for%20sale/)

I love the car, please don't me wrong. But like Chad996's recent decision on a his S2, sometimes there are priorities in life that change one's outlook. I am trying to get closer to my father again and we have cars in common. We are both working on British restorations an 1953 MG TD and my TR6 (see pictures) and I would like to spend more time with him on that. I can't do that and keep the 951 running - the upgrade addiction is too hard to surmount

Also after having driven my 951 close to 2,500 miles of long distance driving in the last month, I have realized that I need something a little more comfortable. I really like long trips in sports cars. The C4 presented itself as great deal and I made a decision. It is as simple as that

If I had unlimited money and space - I would keep them all! I may still get to do so if no one makes a reasonable offer

so how do you get un-attached emotionally to sell? I've been told that I've become a total emotional nut when it comes to my car. I even decided to stop making left turns at intersections, and i become a basketcase if i find a small ding or tiny stonechip on the car paint. I realize my stress level will really go down if i sell the car, but i can't imagine being without it.

Saw this car in person and sat in the gorgeous interior. As good as the wheels look in pictures, they look 10x better in person. Good luck Fergus, it sounds like you're making the right decision to spend more time with your Dad and get off the modification train.

I, too, have seen and been in this car. It's quite nice, and treated very well by Fergus.

Nice Jags! (I worked on an XJ6 last week.)

I know of a Ferrari 400i for sale...

Bump. Have dropped the price to $12,500 - where it will stay until spring.

BTW - I will store it for you all winter if you want.
