"951" carbon badge
Hi all
I always have been missing a proper badge for our cars as for me the 951 is not just a 944 and the factory only added the "turbo" to it as an identifier...
besides that, the 944 badge really looks like being 40 years old.
I therefore have designed a "951" badge from carbon prepreg which I think really looks as if it would have been delivered from Neckarsulm with it
Thought I'd share a pic of it with you guys:
If there would be a positive feedback I might also consider a small series of these badges in high quality for other 951 enthusiasts (this is not an advertisement).
Cheers
Beni

Damn you guys are harsh. I think it's a neat idea, but unfortunately without a lot of carbon elsewhere on the car, it wouldn't look right for me. But that's my opinion.
I dunno if you bothered to press the carbon as well as heat it, but if you have access, you might want to lay up some carbon on some foam to give the emblem a third dimension and look more factory. Just a thought. You wouldn't need prepreg for this application; wetlay would do just fine and IMO give a more 3-D look.
Neat idea. I commend you, sir.

After trying 5 different supposed Porsche fonts I gave up and made what I thought the numbers looked best as. Most of the fonts(this was 4 years ago) didn't even have numbers, just the alphas. Some didn't even have all of those. The few I found with the numbers had terrible 5's. The ones I made are not any font, I created them from scratch in a vector format for my plotter.
I don't think Porsche ever officially released thier font for public use so any you donwload are just someone elses version of what htey think it should be as well.
To the OP, kudos on the design. I think it fits great with the 996 or 997 style but a bit too modern of for our old cars, just my opinion.

Rice is taking badges OFF a car, or naming them something they aren't. This is not rice at all. Everyone here calls there cars a 951 already anyway.
Like I stated earlier, I think its a nice job, just too new looking for our cars. If your going to criticize, please at least make it constructive.
