Default So what have you transported in your trunk?!?

Hi Gents

I just had to post this simply ridicules picture I received from Beni today picturing a parcel he had to take to our local shipping agent in Switzerland for a delivery to a fellow US Rennlister

I'd just love to know if anybody else has transported anything quite as large in their 951:

Best regards to all,
Mark

That's great! I once had a few hundred beer bottles in the back of mine going back for recycling. They filled up the back seat - floor to ceiling - and the entire area in the trunk. It was a sight!

Two C5 Corvette mufflers juuuuuust fit with the hatch shut. I made sure to watch any bump I went over for fear of one jumping up and shattering the hatch.

Is that the new ultra secret 944 mini cocktail fridge in the box?

WOW.

Did NOT expect that.

I cram a lot of stuff in my car...I just went to Sebring International Raceway with 4 wheels with tires mounted, toolbox, jack, jackstands, air compressor, 2 folding chairs, helmet bag, backpack, and quite a lot of room to spare...and I think at some point I've probably crammed more than that in there...but NEVER have I carried anything that big!

Well done, sir!

I fit a full set of Cup IIs and a full set of unmounted tires with the hatch closed and a full roll cage(no passenger seat though).

I've put my bass amp (vintage 2x15 fender bassman cab and fender 140 head), bass in a hard case, guitar, and guitar amp (fender twin reverb) before with a harness bar in the car. The corners of the cab just barely touched the glass of the hatch. I've also had the majority of a drum set in mine before. These cars can fit an amazing amount of stuff for how small they are.

I've fit other things in my trunk, like when I drive around with candy to entice little chi...hold on, there's a very authoritative knock on my door, I should probably go answer it...

Do you stack the wheels where the passenger seat would go?

We need pics of that!

I could barely fit 6 cup II wheels in mine (no tires). At one point I thought I would have to drive with one of the 7's in my lap for the drive home.

How the hell did you get wheels with tires, and all of that other **** in there?

I took some photos while I was there...not sure how well you can see into the car (haven't reviewed them yet), but I think I can oblige you!

One rear wheel (275 treadwidth rear) goes on the passenger seat standing up. One wheel (245 treadwidth front) gets wedged behind the bar on the passenger side, into the space where the passenger side rear seat used to be. The other two wheels lay flat under the hatch, with a front all the way aft, crammed between the other front tire and the back of the hatch area, and a rear pushed as far forward as possible against the bar behind the driver seat.

I'll see about posting the photos tomorrow.

Where is Beni's VW Passat wagon?(he was driving one last time when we met) Seems like there is a spring in Zürich, no snow at all...

We made about 10 yeas ago with my eldest son a winter holiday trip to Finnish Lappland. My ex. 944 n/a was loaded with two pairs of alpine skies, a snow board. all different kind of cloths for two person for a week, lot of food, beer, coca cola. I even skipped to use my oem 944 roof rack, because 944 was capable to take all necessary stuff inside
