Default Need help removing a plastic spacer from behind steering wheel (83 944)

Hey everyone! Im having a bit of trouble removing a plastic spacer from my early 944. This piece sits just behind the steering wheel, if i recall correctly its where the indicator pieces sit on. The part number is 171 419 649. I need to remove this piece to remove the ignition lock. I can post a picture if anybody needs any more clarification.

the car is also a manual steering rack.
thanks everyone!

There are actually two small screws on either side of the column, with the heads pointed to the floor. They are hard to see otherwise. You can find the holes by feel, and they are philips head, if I recall. Once you get those out, you do have to wiggle and pull but be careful, 34 year old plastic is brittle.

Good luck
