This isn't the big hatch seal that goes all the way around, but a shorter one that goes just beneath the duck tail. What is it's purpose, and do you still have it on your car?

I took mine off when I re-sealed the hatch glass and left it off because it was no longer good and I had ordered a new one.

In the meantime, from the driver-seat I could see light sneaking it around the latches. I also went to a car wash and had water come through. This is despite having a new 'main' seal, and making every possibly adjustment to get a tight hatch seal.

You want it. It helps seal the gap, especially around the latches. It also looks weird without it.

Is this the right part? Looks right, same part number, but can't believe its being sold that cheap.

The part number matches the one I bought, but I paid $69.97 at Sunset Porsche. Pelican has it for $86.

$12 seems too good to be true.

Follow-up: Got it from Stoddard for $12.20. It's the right part. Goes in in about half an hour.

And today the price on Stoddard is $95.76... Guess they figured out they had a problem with their pricing...

Mine is/was covered in yellow'ish mold release. I've had it soaking in water with some simple green for days - I keep coming back to it and scrubbing some off, but it's really not ideal. For a $70 part, I expect better.

What's a safe chemical to use on this, that is effective in removing the mold release without scrubbing?

Just to follow up on the last post here - Goo Gone (or similar) worked quite well at removing the mold release residue.
