Diy dme testing?
Hello all, im new to this forum and just recently bought my first 944. I bought the car not running and was told it had a bad DME, not really trusting the seller I did a lot of digging before I went and purchased a new/used dme, the car has no spark and no power at either side of the coil, no fuel at the rail so the fuel pump isn't kicking on while cranking either, I have resoldered the dme relay and dme computer and have power to the relay and coming from it, I have also tested the 2 pins going into the dme computer as directed on Clark's garage and have power to both of them as well, also both the reference and speed sensors appear to be new and check out on the resistance test, I'm almost at a loss, I guess it would be helpful to say that the car sat outside and leaked so the dash was all wet, I am certain this caused the issue in the first place, I am wondering if there is any way to test the dme, pins to test etc. Any help would be appreciated, it is an early 85 944 N/A

See if you can find a buddy on here or the standard 944 list that you can send the DME to. They can pop it in the dash of a good running car and tell you if it's good or bad. You can also contact Rogue Ant on the list and see if he can/will help.
Still no fuel coming from the pump after you o/hauled the relay? Take or make a long jumper out of some lamp cord and alligator clip it to the battery on one end and hook the other to the fuel pump to see if it will run. May be a bad pump. Won't hurt to change the filter while you're back there, too.

I was kind of hoping there were some pins off of the DME I could test directly, it had fuel pressure and 12v to the positive side of the coil for a very short period of time after I resoldered the relay and the DME but its now back to nothing again, I'm quite certain the fuel pump is good because I lost fuel and power to the coil at the same time, are there only 2 pins supplying power to the DME? Could anyone tell me what pins are going out to the coil and fuel pump?
