Question re: tranny crush washers
I'm trying to delay the inevitable gearbox rebuild by switching to Redline. Can anyone tell me if the crush washers on the trans/diff are Porsche specific, or can I head to my FLAPS and pick up all three of them?

Careful with parts-store copper crush washers - they can be too hard to seal properly as they work-harden from the initial stamping process.
You can fix this by annealing them (heat them to a red glow and let air cool) which will soften them significantly.
Aluminum ones are easier.

Assuming you refer to the fill and drain plugs, then they are the same as for the oil pan drain plug. Any of the Big 3 can send you a handful for a couple of bucks.
Get the correct crush rings. And torque the plugs to spec with your small torque wrench. The required torque is very low. If you do it by feel you'll end-up with 5x the spec and - possibly- seized plugs or stripped threads.

Yes, I should have clarified that I'm looking for the crush washers for the 2 drain plugs and the fill plug. Hopefully my FLAPS stock aluminum ones.
I've already changed the oil before, and was sure to torque them back to the correct spec. At that time, I just reused the washers.
Thanks!!!
