While reinstalling the CE panel...
...I found a loose 2 terminal connector about 3 inches from V5&V6 (approx. 10 gauge red wire and 16 gauge white wire). It looks like these terminals are for the antenna and radio, neither of which have been installed since I purchased the car. I assume this connector is for the radio; is that correct?

I think that is the plug for the amp.
The radio itself is powered from a wire directly off the ignition, with constant power from the interior lights circuit.

Did your car come with a factory amplifier/booster? That looks like the power supply line for the booster and antenna. According to the wiring diagram page 31, there are two 2.5mm red wires. It says both of these wires go to V5 but I can't see where that is on the diagram (I am unfamiliar with earlier diagrams) but that would indicate the same connector and the wire size is the same as that to the amplifier on my 88.
It also makes sense this is the case since these wires are not fused since the radio is what turns them on.

Early VIN and no option sticker, so I don't know if it had a factory amp. I have found no evidence of an amp. The amp was feed by a red and white wire, so this would make sense.

You may want to insulate that or remove the pin's from the CE so you don't have live connectors floating around.
