Throttle pressure cable holder
Anyone have a solution for a broken one of these? I searched, but didn't find what I really need.
This thing screws off the end of the cable but, of course, is not available separately.
Mine broke on a road trip, allowing the entire cable to slide back and forth, resulting in only 1/2 throttle availability. I secured it with some zip ties and it works fine, but not gonna cut it for the PVGP concours.
Thanks.
(found this uncredited pic on another thread, so please pardon the lack of credit)

Installed a whole new cable yesterday. That is the solution.
I'll admit that I was looking up the wrong part number, so I thought this was a $200 cable. In reality, it's only about $30, so it's an affordable solution and very simple swap out. Just pull the filter housing and MAF and access is good.

I had a similar failure on my cruise control thingy recently- first I knew of it was when the throttle was jamming open. I put a jubilee clip over the failed part initally but it did not last long and jammed open again. Disengaged the cruise control nipple so the problem was solved temporarily.

The thing is captive by the nipple so short of removing the nipple and re-fitting it a replacement component sad to say is of little use. In my good old motorcycling days such features were controlld by steel items that had a slit in them so the cable could be fed through- not these days.

What Fred said. I thought someone might have had a more creative solution than zip-ties. Although my 6 tie solution that I constructed in the parking lot can really be accomplished with only two. If they're black, they're almost undetectable.
Fortunately, the snap-on sockets weren't as stubborn as some I've had to deal with, so the swap was a piece of cake.
