Default Trans vacuum line help

Hi all,

Almost complete on my intake refresh for my 83 928 S (ROW K Jetronic) and have one final piece needed to complete it.
The metal vacuum line that attaches to the front on the spider plenum has come apart at the join above the start of the torque tube and needs a new rubber hose join, simple enough but I am having trouble accessing the pipe. Any tips? Is there an access panel from inside?

Any help appreciated and hoping there is a way of doing short of pulling masses of things off....

Thanks

I've seen some just run a new rubber line all the way back to the trans.

Just Zip tie it up good, and if / when you have a chance to lower the upper bell then you can always reuse the metal pipe.

A line like this will be helpful. The #3 size is what I used. A single line from the manifold to the trans has less points to lose vacuum from.

Cheers.

Looks like a new hose seems to be the choice.

Thanks

I used one of those spring loaded deals you use to pick up things like a bolt when you drop it into a tight place. I put a little soap on the end of the hose and was able to maneuver it enough to get it onto the metal pipe. had to take loose a heat shield but wasn't to bad

I think I got what you were saying....
Anyway it led me to inserting a length of spring steel inside the new vacuum hose and feeding it onto the rear part of the metal line and then the front was easy to get on!!

Fixed

Thanks all!!
