I am working on installing Hans very cool fan set up and I came across an issue that others I am sure have solved. I have an 89 S4 and I am not sure what to do with the air pump filter that is molded into the factory fan setup. I tried searching but that didn't come up with any good results.

I am a CA resident so removing the pump is not an option and I don't want to have it unfiltered. What has the collective been able to do with this?

i have seen people add a camp on K&N style small cone filter to the pump inlet
