Wipers move when putting on right turn indicator
Hello everyone,
The past few days I've been searching why my front wiper arms move (slow speed) when I put on my right side turning indicator. This also occurs when I push the emergency indicators ****.
During my search I noticed following:
When I put on the right side turn indicator the relay of the wipers click, then the arms move until I cancel the indicator signal, the the relay click once more and the arms stop moving.
When I remove the fuse of the front right turn indicator, the problem has gone away
When I only remove the bulb of the right front turn indicator the problem still occurs.
When I remove wires at the handle of the wipers the arms dont move when putting on the turn signal
Any ideas where the problem can be located? Any suggestions what else I can try?
thanks alot!

What was the last thing you fixed before this occurred?
either the switch has broken internally,
find a used one.
Or you put the connector on the wrong way

Thanks for the replies
I only changed the steering wheel and some fuses.
Mr. Merlin, What switch do you mean? And I didn't touched the connectors at the steering wheel.
Randy, I also didn't touched the relays before but I'll check if they are corrrect.
Thanks

the turn signal switch is what i am talking about.
NOTE if you put a new wheel on then you must re position the turn signal switch for the proper depth ,
so the horn ring doesnt get sheared off.
NOTE With this new info then maybe you did not position the switch and the horn tab has sheared off and fell into the switch thus shorting things out.
Might you also have fitted fuses to slots that should be empty?
if so then there is a chance you could be back powering another circuit

Normally I'd suspect a grounding problem whenever 2 unrelated functions start interacting. in this case its not so obvious that there is a common ground point... worth more looking here though. Check the ground behind the pod and the CE panel... etc
The wipers and turn signals are on totally different sides of the combo switch with no direct opportunity to interact regardless what goes wrong. Try removing the intermittent wiper relay (its the only relay for front wipers). You will lose self parking - but see if you still get the movement without it - just as a test.
If you don't see the movement anymore it is more likely related to the CE panel ground - so I'd clean that one up first. (flasher relay and intermittent wiper interacting via their common ground).

Wipers won't turn off
Just bought a 84' 944 and the windshield wipers are always on, no matter what I do they won't stop, the only thing I can do is make them go faster but that's not helpful at all.
