What if my GTS has 2 restricted breather elbows?
Title is self explaining, ask me why this question... Oil consumption is not alarming. I can go from nihil every about 600 miles on highway up to a Quart every 1500, i rarely see oil cloud in the rear view mirror, every time happns is when i go dowhill without accelerator, then i press it... Looks like intake gets full of oil and then goes burnt.. It seems that previous mechsnics were not that meticolous change grazie spare parts. My car is a 92 gts, only 2 elbows on Ps cam cover.

If you haven't already, do a search on '928 GTS oil consumption' and you will find lots of information as it is a well documented problem.

Seems you have the very early type breather that was quickly superseded- its replacement was no better and possibly worse.
I converted my S4 motor breather system to the GTS system and oil consumption increased dramatically as in from not good to atrocious. I now run with a custom breather system and oil consumption is much better but then I do not have a GTS motor with the infamous scraper ring land with no oil drain holes.
Both systems can be modified to improve them.

Me stupid, i forgot to say that i have put GB baffle under oil filler neck, and that i still have To report recent oil consumption ( i go to check oil level, now).

I did my homework, 800 miles (highway, urban traffic, mountain travels, a real mix ) and no oil consumption to report, maybe .1/ .2 of a quart.
I think that 2 resticted elbows are insignificant, but GB baffle seems to improve oil consumption.
I have to say sorry to GB , time ago I called his baffle "DEVEK oil baffle" , not thinking what devek represented , but thinking (with my poor Language knowings) that a" devek" baffle was like "allen " key ....I need to study your Language way better...

If that is you consumption profile then as Greg says do not think about it any further.
Whereas the GTS motor is notorious for oil consumption not all examples are the same for whatever reason[s]. That Porsche found an immediate need to modify the breather system tells its own story- there was no re-call but there was a service bulletin advising dealers to modify the system if the owner complained of excessive oil consumption - even the owner's manual states to expect something silly like up to 500 km/litre if my memory serves me correctly.

The change was between '92 (ROW only) to '93.
So I'd expect that all US delivered GTS cars had the same breather system.
It certainly wasn't a brilliant move, it may even have been worse than what it replaced. Clearly they never ever got it right.
Meanwhile some combination of the longer stroke of the GTS, the blunt crankshaft counterweight config and the different piston ring drainage config makes it much worse on GTS cars.

As part of my top end refresh, I have added the Gregg Brown oil baffle, drilled out the elbows and added another elbow on driver side to fit the later GTS cross over hose. I also added the oil separator to all 3 elbows. There was a slight modification to the front passenger side to allow it to fit.
I also added the newer hose from the "Y" connector at base of MAF to the Oil Fill Neck and capped the lower fitting.

OK so it wasn't immediate on the '93's I suppose - I wonder when it cut in?. How was your oil consumption with that set-up anyway? & how did it change after your mods? Not really sure there was any merit to what Porsche changed here... did you make any other changes to the oil filler neck ports/valves?
Any reason you didn't add the 4th breather (for future options?).

I am just getting everything back together and will hopefully have her all done by mid week and in time for the drive to Frenzy so will report back on oil consumption after that trip.
In regards to 4th port, wasn't sure how to best plumb it and was running out of time for Frenzy. I'm not holding my breath that these changes make a remarkable difference so the engine will most likely come out this winter and will look at all options at that time.
