Me Too! First I heard there were issues despite my inquiries. You would think having the car for going on 4 years the car would have been tight for delivery. I had waited long enough, so I just came to get the car. Very disappointed given the amount of money I paid him in 2013 for performing work and upgrades on my car. More on all this later ...

Found what looks like a small hole in my new exhaust

.

Turbo install

Looks good has 0 miles by me looks like these fittings are loose or leaking. Messaged Mark the last couple of days no response.

Intake Powder Coating by the now defunct Legends Garage. Mark Robinson put it all together and made it look really nice.

the car looks nice, the intake is awesome,

I would re position the jack stands so they are on the jack pads,
putting them on the rocker seam may cause other damage.
this in not where the load should be taken up.

The powder coating on the water bridge should be removed from the mating areas for the attach bolts and where the part mates with the heads,
the 2 sensors also must be cleaned or a solid ground will not be present this can cause erratic running and temp signals to the gauges

Took it down. I use Porken Lift bars if that makes a difference.

Well as Mr Merlin and Sean suggested, I removed some of the powder coating from the water bridge bolt areas. According to Mark Robinson, I'm supposed to have about 14 on the Wide Band 02. Looks Like that is the case now. Still smells rich. I'm going to take it up the street and back and see whats what.

Return from her maiden voyage.

Filled the Power Steering reservoir to take it down the street. Went about 10 miles to a car wash let it idle while I sprayed some of the trip dust off. Thing started to overheat. Turned it off. Checked the PS res and no loss. Antifreeze leak after all. Let it cool down replaced the fluids. Ran cool all the way home and I got on it several times and had to sit at a couple of lights. I think between the leak and the fans not coming on, idling at the car wash made it over heat.

For what I paid Mark and for something that supposed to have upwards of 450 hp with boost, I can't tell the turbo is even there. Of course the dyno and tuning I was promised and paid for never occurred.

Maybe some of you guys with Turbo's can help me dial it in, as I think I have been bamboozled .
Other small issues I noted, speedo doesn't work and neither does the fuel gauge. Oil pressure, Temp, battery and RPM seem to work. Turn signal lever is shot. Have to hold it for right turns.

Looks like I typed the same info twice about the PC.

on the PC issue you also need to remove the coated area where the water bridge attaching bolts seat ,
or you wont have a solid ground.

NOTE cleaning the mating surface of the sensor is one part of the issue.

Otherwise put a ground wire into one of the bracket holes to a bolt on the engine .

Where is the coolant leaking from?
Where is the rack leaking from?

FWIW since you know you have,
a leaking power steering system,
a possible overheating issue,
and a running rich condition,
and an otherwise unproven piece of machinery,
it would be wise to not let the car sit and idle while your washing your hair ,
or making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for your tailgate party

I think I was incorrect and that its just an antifreeze leak only.
I can't find where yet, however it leaks near where it could drip down onto the inner end of the passenger side steering rack boot. I can't see anything leaking from the top or when I was underneath. All the major hoses up front are intact and not leaking.

I'll try to get it back up int he air and tonight and try to get some more pics. She is grounded until I do a proper Post Purchase inspection.

Did I mention I love your 928? Pearl white over gray/green 5 speed... doesn't get better than that!
Also, if that's factory pearl... that'd have to be the earliest one and the only early body style I've seen.
From what I can tell it was resprayed at some point but the hatch floor engine bay while dirty seem to be Pearl White. See the Option code sticker the paint was special order L 999.
I've sent off for both 928s birth certificates maybe that will verify.

The one bolt hole is a WB mount point the sensor it just too the right. I Think I have one more WB mount point to do. Tom M said is cleaned two, so I thought I would do two as well.

Damn dude. Now I wish I had checked this thread ahead of time. I wouldn't have been able to touch it for a couple months as I'm dealing with one that a certain 928 vendor has totally fvcked up but I'd have said to leave it with me.

Just read this whole thread. Wow what a saga. I mussed have missed something though. Your first post about picking up the car is from January of 2017, but you later say that you've owned the car for four years. Has the mechanic had the car for four years?

Had I not flown out on non refundable tickets, I would have had you pick it up for me and sort it. He had it for going on 4 years. I figure he snookered me out of about 5 K given what he left me with. Oh well stupid tax paid.

Yes I'm writing up the details and will post the story soon. I let that fact slip early, after getting a car not ready as promised.

$5k for the turbo set up isn't a bad deal at all especially considering all the work that needs to be done to get it to work properly. I've got a few customers who have spent 2x that so I'd say you are ahead of the game at this point. Don't sweat it at this point. Find out what the car needs and work your way forward. I know it can be a bit frustrating but think of the end game, it's going to be fun. I'm guessing that the hard part is already been done and it's the small stuff that needs attention at this point.

I paid over 11 K for all the work. Not including the powder coating I paid to Legends. (Great Deal Worth every penny) Including a top end refresh. Car runs like crap. I feel like I lost 5K. Don't get me wrong. Some of the work is really good, and I believe Mark to be a good person, and he did have some personal stuff that affected his finances and the timeline, but we all have stuff to deal with. If you agree to something and put a price on it as we did and I pay you your asking price, then I should get what I paid for.

Here is our project sheet I drew up when we agreed to the work in 2013.
