Awesome...308GT/4.. another one of those off the radar "Ferrari's" . Sure to go up in value like the 246 Dino's..

Love the pearl paint and phone dials on the 928... brings out the essence of the 928..nice find...

Made it to Knoxville. She should be home soon and then I can start working on sorting the poor running.

This is a really fun read Chuck. Very much enjoying your journey.

I guess it's a good thing you didn't fly out there expecting to drive it back...

Thanks Mark! Odd I have owned it for four years and I have never driven it oooops! let some of the story out... more to come. I learned not to expect to drive them home no matter what snake oil is being sold. My first attempt at buying a 928 was from a guy in North Dakota. The seller said it would be fine to drive back, but asked why I wanted too. That kind of made me uneasy. I took the train out and arrived to the place and the guy was not home, but his wife was and she let me test drive it. It started and was just ok, but the headlights wouldn't come up. I passed on the car and had a heck of a time finding a way out ND as there was an oil boom starting and all flights and hotels were being sucked up by big oil money.

Good point. If only I was driving it. I'm the one in the bibbed overalls checking the clearances.

Arrived in Richmond VA. She is home after . Starts when cold, so I was able to get into the garage think will choke you with the rich exhaust. Clutch seems to release a little further out than I like, something to check out.
My biggest concern other than having a fresh intake and the car not running as it should is it leaking antifreeze like a sieve. When I looked under the car in Texas there were no signs of leaks. Mark did put some antifreeze in on Monday when we replaced the temp sensor and said he was going to burp it. He put very little in and I assumed it was from replacing the fluid from the intake work.
May be a loose hose or clamp from the trip. Now that I'm home, I'll start a thread for the repairs

See the video.

Ahh, well, okay. So you've SEEN it driven in your presence (electrically).
But you STILL have not personally driven your own car. Amazing really.

Well, I'm personally rooting for ya, and I know many others here are too.
Glad you've gotten it home now. Best of luck getting it sorted out!

P.S. - The latest video is not working for me...

Hey, I just refreshed, and your latest video is working for me now.

Glad to see you got her home safe and sound (hope your wife survived it okay too).

I'm sure you'll get all the issues sorted out. Hopefully they'll all be minor.

Thanks. The video had not finished processing at you tube before I posted it. Yeah I'm hoping the issues are also minor. The wife survived it the trip and is no worse for wear. She was upset that all the fumes from the exhaust while unloading got in her hair and clothes. I'm sure a wardrobe refresh is in my future

Looks Like its rack leak and not antifreeze. Smelled sweet last night. Looks like a rack is leaking pretty bad on the passenger side. I'll open a new thread going with some video's of the turbo etc..

Check your MAF...had similar issues with my rear turbo GT when water got into the MAF (through the little venturi) under boost. Ran really rich until I replace the MAF...

I will, as due diligence . Mark showed me the checklist he went through to try and resolve it and checked the MAF and said it was good.

I had this exact issue on two cars that I had the water bridge powder coated. Once the PC'ing was removed from any contact surface to the block and the TempII sensor, the issues went away. One reason I won't install any PC'd water bridges any longer.

Thanks! You and Mr Merlin have given me this advise. I'll remove the PC tomorrow and see what happens. I almost reached out to you and Roger Monday, but couldn't get Budget to extend my rental on the car hauler. Otherwise I would have liked to meet you both and pick up some items . Sorry it didn't work out that way.

I had talked to mark last week before you picked it up and last I had heard was the Temp II had fixed the issue. Sorry to see you are having issues still.
