Default Whistle after shut down 87 Auto

Good Morning,
I have read through everything I a can find related to whistles..
But this is more specific.

Idle is perfect and steady.
Definitive vacuum whistle is heard after shut down and on top side of Motor.
I only hear the idle on shut down, and it gradually bleeds away.

All is running fine, and am back on the road as Daily Driver now after 3 years so I hesitate to tear into the intake just yet. I will live with it for a while longer but wondering if anyone has experienced the same.

Thanks

John

could it be one of the check valves at the brake booster?

I will add that to the list.
It sounds like a good suspect. All the check valves are new.
I plan on trying to see why I have no heat this weekend, and will hunt further for the whistle.
thnx

I had the same issue - it was the flappy valve bearing on the top of the intake.

Well, if it is the Flappy, ( that should be easy to identify) did you notice any detriment other than it sounding like the tea was ready?

Not really, but it may be an indication that the flappy is not operating correctly.

There are procedures in the archive that describe an easy way to test it.
