Race Car
Travelogue thread should be compulsory- pics, vids, lessons learned spare parts...
;-)
Flussig travelblog even better.
White car is spectacular-- but glad to see that it will actually accumulate some earnest miles. It's worthy of a stroker...

Were all in now!
The cars started their part of the trip last night heading to Greensboro. In typical 928 fashion the repair punch list grew on the 15 minute drive to meet the truck. The GTS rear hatch refused to stay closed and the lock cylinder on the glove box decided to come loose. The red S4 owner Bob arrived holding the rear view mirror in his hand and the car proceeded to puke washer fluid. A few minutes of fiddling resolved the hatch, and the other issues will have to wait until we reunited with the cars in 2 weeks.
Here’s a few shots of the cars being loaded.

Reminds me of my 928 trip with Eva Mendez whom I met at Cannes. We started in Nice, France, heading North to the Alps, then south through Germany, Italy, west to Spain, ending in Britain....... Then the alarm went off.....

Our route has a mix of scheduled stops and unscripted time but here is a rough idea:
• 10/6 Kevin Bob and I Fly into Greensboro and meet our buddy who, the trucking gods willing, will have our cars.
• 10/8 Cars n Coffee Winston Salem then on to Lexington Bluegrass Airport to meet the wives flight in.
• 2 or 3 days in Kentucky’s Bourbon Trail area.
• 10/11 and 12 Townsend, TN with day drives into Smoky Mountains, namely Tail of the Dragon and Cherohala Skyway.
• 10/13 3 nights in Nashville hopefully lots of good music and Cars n Coffee Nashville on Saturday Morning.
• 10/17 head South where?
• 10/18 2 nights in New Orleans
• 10/20 heading west?
• 10/21 Austin, BBQ and an F1 racing weekend.
• 10/23 heading west?

Update Time
The cars arrived in Greensboro last Saturday and our friend there called to say we had our first problem. The ’90 S4 was running very rough and potentially not firing on all cylinders. I reached out to a few Rennlist 928 forum members from the area asking where they serviced their cars and received a great response but most places were about a 100 miles from the cars. Greg Brown, who has worked on all three of the cars, had told us to call on him if we ran into trouble and we decided to call his bluff. Greg was awesome and after hearing the symptoms said he would overnight a variety of parts to Greensboro and once they arrived he helped our friend diagnose and repair the problem over the phone. New coils and the correct new coil wires and the car was back on the road before we even arrived. We can’t thank both he and his wife Mary enough for the help.

Heh, that's a pretty good call, from 3000 miles away. The poor white car isn't used to being wet....
