Progress...thank you so much for documenting.
I've had good luck just calling the Porsche USA COA phone number, providing them the VIN and asking them nicely what the original colors were without being required to purchase a COA

I just got a new in-tank fuel pump and I carefully loosened and removed the old one with some penetrant and slow, even torque so as not to damage the the bung. It came out nicely with no damage to the tank so all was good there. I then tried a test fit in the tank with the new pump only to find it does not fit. It goes in about a quarter of the way and stops. I certainly did not want to force it in there, so I did some searching and discovered that some of these new in-tank pumps may have been made with slightly too large of a diameter on the pump casing.
I'll see about returning it for one that does fit.

I got another air plenum/fuel distributor. The one on the left was thrown in and although it is different I brought it home anyway.
No throttle body on the one I needed but I thought it coming with a fuel distributor was a plus. I'll take the throttle body off the plenum with the bent plate that came on the car. I'll have to order a new rubber gasket for the throttle body. The old gasket in the picture was completely stuck to the air meter housing.

I removed the throttle body from the housing with the bent plate and started to clean it.
The gasket on that throttle body was completely stuck to the throttle body.
I also noticed there was no part number on the throttle body.

I also started cleaning up the housing.
The bolts holding the the two halves of the housing together were loose so I think I'm going to separate the two halves, clean the inside, and put a new gasket between them.

Also an even closer inspection of the damaged housing that came on the car revealed a piece missing that I did not find in the housing.
This could be how the plate bent but with the way the plate sort of floats back up to the closed position I don't see how it could have been bent by the missing piece.
I'm going to use a borescope to look in the combustion chambers to make sure the missing piece didn't some how get sucked into one and chew up a cylinder.

This little rubber mount for the air meter/fuel distributor housing was a nice reminder that every little piece I come across will have to be replaced.
All things great and small.

The condition of the plugs and the bent air metering plate are leading me to believe that the last time this car was running it probably wasn't running that well. I used a borescope through the spark plug holes and, while acknowledging the limitations of a borescope, I didn't see anything out of the ordinary on the cylinder walls but the tops of the pistons were caked black like the plugs.
