Thanks all. Wally that was the last bit of info I needed.

As a follow-up, the problem turned out to be the black/blue check valve. While I was getting vacuum at both sides directly with my Vacuum gauge, I thought it was very strange that the Four-way connector would be the cause of the problem. Also, the check valve was "vibrating" which I thought seemed strange.

I had a parts-store check valve in the shop, installed it, and everything started working great. HVAC system is working awesome, and the A/C now blows NICE and COLD!

Good job!

You do still have at least one leak, though. Check valve buzzes only when air is passing thru - if everything in the HVAC is tight, there will be no airflow. The most common leak is the orange line that runs up to the distribution flap in the center of the dash, but it can be anywhere in the system.

The new valve lets more air flow thru than the old one did, and doesn't buzz.

If you go to our web site, then to tips (on the left), then Wally's World, then HVAC, you will find a write-up on the system. It is based upon the later cars, but will still be useful.
