Any problems running 245/50/16 instead of the 245/45/16? Thats what Tire rack just told me to run. Either Kumho or BF Goodrich available, with 225/50/16 up front.

I recently put on the BF Goodrich Comp 2 AS in 245/50 16. Yes, you can see slightly bigger look in the back, but does not look bad to me. In fact, looks kind of cool. Ride is real nice too with all the rubber.

What sizes are you actually looking for?

i did this because i only had 7" rims at the time, but it worked well. its just a taller tire , so you get a little more sidewall but works fine.....

Tirerack had Potenza RE11s in 225/50R16 and the 245s on back order. Now they have 245/45R16 and the 225s on back order.

N/A until next year according to tirerack rep.

PITA

Toyo TR1s are in stock. They have "meh" reviews and an ugly tread pattern that sceams "ricer", imo.

I don't care to stretch a 225, so it seems my fate is sealed.

Unless someone has pictures of 245/50s on the 8" S4 rims?

Glad I grabbed my 245/45s off of TR when I did!

Khalloudy, thanks for posting about the classic factory tire programs. I will have to look into that too!

Now, what exactly do those numbers (N0, N2, N4, etc.) mean?

The correct tire sizes and ratings for 928s with 16" wheels usually:
Front: 225/50 ZR16
Rear: 245/45 ZR16

And indeed the Bridgestones don't pop up on Tirerack, because either the fronts or the rears do not have the proper speed rating. This has been like this for several years.
