Fuel Filler Flap? Standard item and how does it connect?
My '86 928 does not have the fuel filler "flap" that protects the paint from gasoline dripping.
My car doesn't have one. I notice you can purchase the flaps themselves aftermarket, but it's unclear to me how they physically connect to the filler neck?
Is there a ring, or a clip or something? And where does it connect?
Thanks!

It's amazing the affect this site has on your wallet, I ordered the flap and wire as they were missing but the grommet broke to pieces when I had a closer look and while I'm ordering those bits and paying shipping i might as well get the door mirror motor and tailgate studs etc.

Hi,
Just bought a new one some time ago and after install altough I find very usefull the "Oil Ok" when the flap is open I really don't understand why is "Germany" on the other side which means when the flap is closed it stays upside down!
