Audio connectors
Hi there,
I’m half-way I want to be, can any of you help me out… …
I want to remove the very short leads from the audio connectors showed in attached picture.
For the male connector (top one on the picture) it was rather easy, pull the connecting parts that comes out of the connector.
That way the wires come out of the housing
For the female connector, well I don’t know.
Nothing to pull on
Everything is INSIDE the connector, does any of you knows how to proceed?
Thanks for any input… …
Best regards
Alain

Hi Ad,
Bedankt voor de Nederlandse reactie maar om het internationaal te houden doe ik liever verder in het Engels zodanig dat iedereen kan meegenieten.
Yes indeed, I’m in the process of changing the radio back to an “era-friendly” model with amplifier instead of Japanese model.
These connectors were in the glove box of my car while standard household terminal blocks are used now.
I suppose these are the original connecters used by Porsche back in ’89.
To be able to reuse these female connectors I have to remove the wires first.
Like one can see on the pictures, piece of cake for the male connectors, but how to do it for the female connectors??

I found new connectors with pigtails at Crutchfield (dot com) when I upgraded the head unit and amplifier in my similar 1989 car. Took an email note along with purchasing the new hardware from them. Worth an inquiry. Might also be worth a visit to a better local stereo installer where you are. The connectors are common to more than a few Bosch/Blaupunkt components over the years.

Look at Conrad. They have all kinds of speaker connectoren including this "DIN" or "Blaupunkt" type. Also with poeders of wire on them so they take very little space

The lower 'female' DIN connectors are found on 964 and 993 versions of some of the Alpine radios, they're annoying as they obviously won't work with any of the stock 'male' 2 pin DIN connectors found on 928s without cutting them off and replacing with flush-face female connectors.
