PVGP 2016 - July 15-17
It's that time of the year again - 6 weeks out - The 34th annual Pittsburgh Vintage grand Prix! This is really becoming a world class car event. Come join hundreds of your fellow p-car enthusiasts as we again gather on the lawn at Schenley Park to enjoy our cars and the races. We always have a nice gathering of sharks, and enjoy a special dinner get together after the Saturday part of the event. We have had a good group from this forum gather the past couple of years, so let's make it bigger still! Now is the time to register and get this event on your calendar.
The PVGP takes place in scenic Schenley Park in the heart of Pittsburgh. This is one of 2 vintage races that occur on public streets in the world, the other being Monaco. It is also a significant charity fundraiser – proceeds are donated through the PVGP to the Autism Society of Pittsburgh and the Allegheny Valley School.
Here are the highlights of the weekend activities to enjoy:
Friday, July 15:
General prices are as follows:
Also, we have a group rate of $109.95 at the Pittsburgh Marriot North in Cranberry Twp, PA. Mention our club (ARPCA) to get the discount. more details on the ARPCA website.

Once again Robin and I are going to this event and I am going to put in my endorsement of the PVGP. If you are interested in seeing a wide variety of cars from all countries and many different eras, you cannot beat this event. While it is true that you have to put up with Ed and Rick, the car show is first rate and (usually because of Ed and Rick's efforts) the local PCA chapter really puts on a great event. Also, there are some great things to see in Pitttsburgh and nearby. If you are coming from the south or the east, you owe it to yourself to visit Fallingwater, which is a Frank Lloyd Wright architectural masterpiece southeast of the city.
There is always a good showing of 928s at this event, but we need more!

Thousands, am I wrong?, of cars. A real treat. Next time, I'm going to the pits (no jokes you guys) and pour over the racers and also the remote track where the larger guns race. But alas, not this year.

yes thousands Steve. You remember correctly. The pits are fun - lots of action there with those vintage racers and drivers, I imagine just like in the very old days of racing, where cars were being tweaked and wrenched on under the trees between heats.

It is a fantastic car event, and a Porsche one at that. We have lots going on this year. Probably have all the sharks gather again for dinner at the Quaker Steak & Lube again, Saturday evening. Rick - you in? Otto? Glen? Anyone else?

The B and B in trendy Gibsonia is not available the weekend of this year's PVGP as the owners have a family event to take care of that weekend. Otherwise we would be among the Gibsonia elite.
