Good score Dennis. Fly and drive is a great way to bond. That's how I got Blumaxx - 2000 mile trip to fall head over heels. My vote is to keep as original as possible. Do as little as you can to make it as good as it can get without a full on resto. That's where the long term value is IMHO. Also, please start a separate thread and post lots of pictures!
Lastly, sorry Hoi - you would have been a great care taker too.

My car has 129k with engine out top end service and pretty much everything in the engine bay replaced, would expect to get your price plus maybe a bit more from a knowledgeable buyer. GLWTS!

'79 pasha refurb on BaT. That engine looks familiar. Has this car been discussed here before?

Yep it has. It's a few hours away from me in Sarnia Ontario.

-Car did not have Pascha originally
-Transmission/clutch needs sorting (ad on kijiji said it was not downshifting well)
-Has not been on the road since the work
-Front suspension needs to be settled per WSM
-Fuel issues
-Technocolour silicone engine bay
-Motor out but head gaskets not touched

It's been for sale for some time, but it is Sarnia. He was asking 18k cdn.

I'll bet the reason the car is sitting so high in front is because the engine wasn't in it when the pics of the car in the driveway were taken. You can see the engine on a stand in the garage in one of the pictures, and the seller had probably rolled the car out for the photo during that time. The only reason I comment is that the front end is sitting much higher than the normal unsettled height.

I am warming up to this car the more I see it. I don't like the lack of head gasket work but beyond that, it has potential. Strip the spoilers off, install phone dials, install some factory hoses, sort the clutch and fuel and enjoy.

Is there a chance the downshifting issue is worn syncros and not the clutch? I have no experience with dual disk clutches.

Yes. I would think a downshift into second is a synchro issue likely

pm'd this seller through eBay a few weeks ago and made a few suggestions that might have helped with the sale. These suggestions would not have cost him much..ex: swap in clear 7" sealed beam H4's in place of the (illegal?) yellow headlights, take the car for a short ride to settle the suspension, etc. Seller pm'd back that he was not interested in what I had to say and was going to report me to eBay....what a dick. Appears seller has since changed his tune over on BAT being that car has not sold. eBay listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-928-...p2047675.l2557

Yep, I had emailed him a well a while ago as well. Suggested a few things and pointed him to BAT. I too noticed his change of tone on BAT.
