Can a cylinder seize up from cranking for 2 min?
This is a fascinating theory that the other locked thread OP is hell bent on. I had my fair share of diesels that needed extensive cranking in the cold to fire up, never had anything remotely happened nor I ever heard of it and I have been around engines for a very long time.
Let’s say the wall is washed down by gas, wouldn’t that still lubricate the rings enough during cranking to keep them from digging into the wall? If it did, would the other cylinders keep the engine rotating even if the rings are sanding down one cylinder?
What the experience of the forum on this?
