Ask A Question...Get Answers...Give Attitude
I don't understand people that come here asking questions, get good answers with solid info, then return with attitude. Then, proceed to ****can the car. This would undoubtedly be the number one worldwide resource for 928 minds and info. Couldn't get by without it. Thanks to all those great minds that contribute here.

Yes this is. I wouldn't have bought a 928 without Rennlist/928.
Some people already have what they think is the correct answer. The come here looking for agreememt and justification. When they don't get it, its our fault.

I've frequented many forums over the years, on many different topics. This one is the best, by far. Good thing, too - I need this forum very badly.
May anyone who does not properly appreciate this forum be smitten by electrical gremlins.

The only time I've been glad to have ignored advice I received here was when I bought the car
(To be fair, once I convinced the advice-givers that I was serious, and didn't just want a "cheap Porsh" that I would neglect and then proceed to propagate BS about unreliability, etc, that advice changed)

Attitude in the face of good advice is a very interesting thing.
You see,
I have a ton of BAD ATTITUDE when people try to help me.
Now where did I leave it?
Haven't seen it in a while....
I must have left it in the garage, certainly...
But now that I think of it,
I haven't used my Bad Attitude in quite a few years, but I know it simply has to be around somewhere.
Oh ! I remember !
My sons are borrowing it !
It seems they are using it on nearly every job they start !

The 928 is the attitude of the German GT car world....... so expecting some attitude on this forum is expected. especially in for form of tights wearing, smack talking, know it all types, that defy physics....

What gets to me is when people want to know how to make their wrong diagnosis the right diagnosis. And people who show no appreciation for the help they receive.
There's ego and immaturity, and there's the ignore list.

Human nature. Part of it is denial of the real situation. Part of it is the unwillingness to admit when wrong. Part of it is defensiveness when someone feels "attacked".
Some of it is trolling.
When one post says "I've been working on 928s and 944s for 6 years" and a later post says "I don't have the tools or anywhere to work on the car", then I tend to wonder.
When someone describes a highly unlikely situation, and completely ignores or dismisses any alternatives, then I tend to wonder.
Once it turns into that level of stupidity, I tend not to even respond.
Fortunately, those kinds of situations are few and far between.
The vast majority on here are genuine enthusiasts. People who care about these cars and are willing to share their knowledge with those who ask nicely. Which is why I always ask nicely and say "thank you".
And why I try to offer what little knowledge and experience I have which,(thanks to this band of loonies) is growing all the time.

That entire thread was a cluster and all one could really do is sit back and wait for it to get better.

Knew 3 kinds of service customers when I had my MC dealership:
1: normal people, fortunately the majority;
2: the innocents "I don't know why it's down on power and it made a big rattling sound and now it won't start." Went out to the customer's truck with the bike back in the back, Honda CB350, broken rod through the front of the crankcase. True story.
3: the experts, as in "I know what it is, I want you to replace (whatever) and don't touch anything else! I watched a mechanic work on one of these once, so I know what I'm talking about. Don't touch anything else!" You knew this would be the first of a number of visits, all like this one. You just got used to it.
And of course, my thanks to all present (and some unfortunately not). I read the list for 2 months before I bought my 86.5 (and the list is why I chose that particular example), but I was still an innocent. Like so many others have said, without this forum I could not own this car, and so would really have missed out on something fine.
