Unhappy Sill repair panels

Hi Everyone,

I have recently purchased an S2 which looks very good apart from some corrosion in the external sills (floor and inner look fine). Does anyone supply replica panels/repair sections or is the only option to make up sections. There is no way I can justify ~£1200 that Rose Passion seem to charge for panels and there don't seem to be other providers..

Those door sills are an important part of the chassis... as a uni-body car those are the bones. They really never seem to have corrosion issues in the U S so little demand for replacements.

Door sills are listed in PET, so there's hope that a set exists in someone's inventory. Worth a look. Mark may have good used ones. Or will section a shell before it goes to the grinders.

So latest is I cut out the rot and discussed with my local classic car shop. The panels are pretty simple so we can fabricate from flat sheet. Only real profile is roll and flange for the sill section. Have done this in the past but without a proper workshop/bench vice and ideally access to cropping/folding/rolling equipment it will be too difficult so it going away for them to work their magic. Will post AFTER pictures..

I'd suggest finding a wreak and cutting off what you need (cut it bigger), then weld it back in place of the rotted section.

If you can't find what you need I will have two different sets of sills to pick from to cut out for you...

Thanks UNEEKONE, that's a kind offer. Will keep it in mind once I have spoken to the welder
