Anker Portable Battery Jump Starter - Review
I've been meaning to pickup a new portable jump starter pack, something smaller than the typical large units.
I've had one like this for years, works great:
I've been curious about the new smaller, lighter units. I saw this thread the other day:

With a link to this unit on sale:
Various reviews looked positive.... so I ordered one.
I've been skeptical about these units having enough oomph to start a really dead car, I figured they had enough to supplement a battery right on the edge, like when you leave an interior light on too long.
It arrived this morning, plugged it in for a full charge.
Once at 100% I connected it to the jumper post of my 80 (negative on the bolt for the cross brace). The 80 doesn't have a dead battery, there isn't one installed at all.
Powered on the unit, waited for the green light, turned the ignition key and waited a few seconds and turned the key. It fired right up without hesitation.
Success!!!
Deciding to push things a bit, my next plan was a compression test anyway. Pulled the fuel plug relay, started the engine again to burn off any fuel in the lines.
Removed plug #5, connected up the compression tester - worked again.
Just for the heck of it, reset the compression gauge and tried again, this time letting it crank a bit longer than necessary......no issues.
I checked the LED readout of the battery - 13% - that gives you a pretty good idea of how many tries you will have with a dead car.
The larger unit I have above would last significantly longer.
For traveling and you find yourself with a dead battery, this smaller unit should be sufficient.
I give the Anker PowerCore Jump Starter 600 a rating of 5 sharks! - on sale for only $75.99 is an even bigger bonus.
Disclaimer - I do not recommend starting a car like this without a battery installed in the proper location. Especially an 85 or newer 928 with much more sensitive electronics.

Cool I've been meaning to get one of these. After buying a bigger battery and changing my ground strap my battery drain issue seems to be resolved. Started up after a whole week with the battery connected. However having got stuck a few times I'm still wary.
I don't see the same one as you available in the UK. Any opinions on the spec of this one?

Drifting
I've got the Antigravity branded version - bought in UK but I think it was distributed from US.
Was always slightly doubtful it would work as it's miraculously compact. Reassuring to read review so thanks! That price is fantastic.
