Default Gaudin Porsche of Las Vegas

Dee and I attended the monthly PCA breakfast this morning.

I guess living in Vegas has it's perks. Gaudin Porsche of Las Vegas, is the 1st " Certified Porsche Classic Partner in the United States." The dealership, had two of it's spokesmen at the breakfast explain what this means. They told us that Porsche is dedicated to preserving Porsches classic cars now more than ever, and the factory will be producing discontinued parts as demand dictates.

I got a chance to ask them if this included the 928, as well as the 911. Both gentlemen said the factory has always revered the 928, and that it would certainly be included.

All work performed will be certified as a factory restoration, and will include a letter of authenticity. They stressed paint and body work as being most notable.

FWIW, I was the only 928 owner present, and every one wanted to see our car. Sadly it needs surgery at Doc Browns, and wasn't able to attend.

Gaudin, is hosting a formal cocktail party March 30, 2016, to open their new restoration shop. We'll be taking our 930, and it's entered in the car show.

Last time we were in Vegas, wife and I just rolled in to Gaudin in my 911 to check out their stock, window shopping, nothing serious. They couldn't have been more cordial. Class act...T

That is good to hear Joe. I also think Porsche is starting to realize that the 928 has staying power, and there is value to the brand to support it like the other models.

Pretty sure that the owner of Gaudin has a GTS. One of the best dealerships I've ever visited. Very friendly people there.

What's the process for showing the demand for NLA parts? Should we start trying to order fuel lines?

I received an invitation in the mail to the Gaudin get together too Joe. Although I'm not sure if they want me to bring my 911SC, or the 928. I plan on taking the 928--we'll see you and Dee there!

Every time a part shows as unavailable or on back order I order 10, 20 ,30 or more (depending on price) to show a requirement. I also order using a VIN suitable for the part - ie. my GTS for a PSD reservoir. This tells them there is a car sitting waiting for the part and helps stir them up a bit quicker - sort of like and AOG in the aerospace industry.. Sometimes I get results other times I get zero.

More and more parts are coming back. The downside is that they order new parts and the price increases significantly. However once the part is in stock the price will remain fairly static (apart from small annual inflation increases) until the next time it is reordered.
