Default ll rubber hose that connect engine to vcuum heater valve...

84 US Model

I am replacing a lot of the old dried up rubber in the engine bay and need to replace the small hose that connects to the "disc valve" or vacuum controlled valve that leads to the heater core. Item 4 on the diagram.

This hose appears to be a transition hose with different diameters on each end. Has anyone found this to be something they can source locally (i.e. close enough to a common application that can be trimmed to fit or does it need to be ordered?

Don't mind ordering it but was hoping to get this wrapped up this weekend and would be great to be able to source locally. Thanks.

You won't find that at PepBoys or Auto Zone.

Best bet is to just buy the correct hose from Roger or 928 International as it is a critical link in the cooling system.

The 78 to 84 928 574 567 02 hose is 15mm ID at one end and 17mm ID at the other - a pretty special sized hose and by Porsche prices a very cheap hose at $4.50.
The later 85 to 95 hose 928 574 567 03 is a straight 19mm ID hose and still reasonably priced at $12.
