no really good stories but people shout at me all the time, "Hey its Tony Montana!" or something to do with Risky Business.

With nice weather for the first half of the week I decided to drive my '79 in to work, the first time that I have driven the car to work for several months.

On Wednesday I was stopped in the parking lot by a nice woman that just wanted to chat about the car and how you never see them any more.

Not even 5 minutes later, on the highway going around 55 along with traffic I looked to my left and saw a younger guy in a nice early MR2 that had pulled up then stuck nose to nose with me till he could wave and give a thumbs up. poor guy then realized that he almost missed his exit so he backed off and went across 4 lanes to make the exit.

Up until that point, my day had been frustrating to say the least, but after these 2 interactions I spent the rest of the day in a good mood. Just driving the car certainly helped with the mood as well.

I actually had a guy in a fully restored 1985 Corvette give me the evil eye. Not sure why. I actually like the C4 generation despite the sound of creaking plastic just starting the car up.

I was sitting at a stop light and a relatively new mustang pulled up next to me and revved his engine up several times... after the 4th or 5th time I blipped the throttle.... I immediately heard through a PA speaker "DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT" I looked in my mirrors and about 3 cars back was a local PD cruiser..... The light turned green and that was the slowest I have ever left a light....

I hear ya, it's like a ...not a 6th sense, but a 928th sense.
..you're do'in a steady 72ish, and a prius passes you, WTF, ...(you tell yourself, "let it go", )
Around the next curve, a state trooper is tagging you while the koolade voter is stabbing (cause they don't own guns) the brakes.

Great stories all, thanks for sharing
I got another, kinda ironic I guess.,...

So you all know I drive a truck, well the funny thing is not very many truck drivers realize that that old Porsche that just passed them is also a truck driver.
All the miles I drive every week, I never see another truck try to keep pace with a car, but when I am in my 928, I swear, most the trucks I pass speed up to (try to) stay close. Its a surreal feeling.

Ok, I got another one from today.
.. So you know when the light changes from red, to green, green means go, right?, well, somebody in the minivan needs to get off the text and get on the gas.
So, I figure the Dumas walker in front of me needs some encouragement, all good, I got to play a little, but the stu**d sh** on my left FREAKED out!(HEY, stupid,...my *** slid to the right )., and the non driver in the momvan in front of me had no clue, the friggin speed limit is 45mph not, up to 45 in an hour. GEEESH!

Driving along, minding my own business, preparing to turn right at the lights ahead where there are four lanes - one lane for right turns, two lanes straight through, and one lane for left turns.

Of course the BMW driver in the left lane decides at the last second to turn right, so she spears across the entire street into the right turn lane in front of me while I am braking for the red light.

I can't say that I was going all that fast, but the ABS pulsed as I had to come to a stop quicker than I had planned - even so the BMW managed to tag the front left corner with her rear bumper.

I got out to inspect the damage.

I wiped the mark off the 928's PU front clip with a little spit, picked up the entire BMW rear clip, dumped it on the roadside, then drove around the stranded BMW when the lights changed to green.

Even Porsche PAINT is tough.

Either of those 'stories' could have taken place in a Honda Accord.

Keep to the thread theme!

G, an 89 GT, has 105k miles on her. I bought it in '91 with 10k on the clock. Plenty of upgrades. One of which is the first owner installed Murph stage II. X pipe, Hi flow cats, RMB.

Mountains of New Hampshire...... Was out for a Saturday breakfast run one sunny summer morning. cruising up the interstate. loping along along about 75 (speed limit is 70). I look in right side mirror and see a caddy "V" coming up at a steady pace on me. I just KNOW he is gonna pick his point and tromp the throttle to blow by me.

Uh uh.........

Put it in 3rd gear, easy on the throttle so I give no warning I know what is coming. V gets about 20 feet back and I hear "it"...... smile knowingly and let him pull even with my side mirror.....

Drop the hammer and G about jumps off the ground and in a flash, is close to the rev limiter (buck-five). I have to shift. 4th gear and foot still in it. Blower pushing about 10#, G howling like the kracken from hell. Stay on it for another few seconds and take a quick look in mirror.......

G had walked away from the V from the instant of WOT. I back off and up shift to 5th. slow back down from warp to impulse speed.

V has backed off too and, in a bit, rolls by me respectfully, thumbs up, big grin.

Only in the last 10 years or so have folks commonly asked me "What is that??????? is it new?"

The are astounded when I tell them what year is was built.

A car was tailing me close, then pulled up on my left rear quarter and stayed there long enough for me to see (in my sideview mirror) the front passenger mouthing "P O R S C H E" (the rear of my car has the subtle look with only the molded PORSCHE in the bumper cover). It was around sunset and my headlights were up. As the car passed I saw the puzzled look on the passenger's face. He was staring at the back side of the left headlight. He twisted about 160 degrees as they passed and I saw him say "They're headlights".

My favorite:
I was showing pictures of mine to some of my students. A girl on the other side of the room comes over and says "Let me see..." I say "It's a 1988 928 S4". She responds..."It looks like a Porsh".
